Planting trees - November 1, 2008 : November 1, 2008 Here we come again with a new action of the volunteers from LEO Club Sibiu ( http://lionwap.org/leosibiu ): planting trees in Sibiu. Today, November 1, 2008, 34 volunteers plant 63 trees. 10 people from the neigbourhood mentioned they want to "adopt" one or more trees; 8 of them are children, and this makes us very happy. Partners of the action: Sibiu town hall, AEGEE Sibiu. We will plant again trees in Sibiu on November 8, 2008. Astazi, 1 noiembrie 2008, 34 de voluntari au plantat 63 de copaci. 10 oameni din vecinatate au mentionat ca doresc sa "adopte" unul sau mai multi copaci; 8 dintre ei sunt copii, iar asta ne bucura foarte mult. Partenerii actiunii: Directia de Spatii Verzi a Primariei Sibiu, AEGEE Sibiu. Vom planta din nou copaci in data de 8 noimbrie 2008. Helping others : On Saint Nicholas last year (2007) I and a group of friends organized a weekend camp for 10 children (7-10 years old) from poor families, who are living in a village close to Sibiu. For our action we donate money, and we collect donations from others (money, clothes, toys). We also donate blood and we received meal tickets for this; thus, we helped our cause (with the meal tickets we bought food for the camp), and - in the same time - we helped people who needed blood. In this gallery are some photos shot during the camp; most of them are shot by me; some of them were shot by others, with their own cameras. We will continue to organize such camps for poor children, but this time as members of LEO club (junior club of Lions club: http://www.lionsclubs.org/). Thanks. *** Below is the same message in Romanian language. *** Mai jos e acelasi mesaj, de data asta in limba romana. *** Anul trecut (2007), de Sfantul Nicolae, am organizat - impreuna cu un grup de prieteni - o tabara la munte pt. un weekend. Au participat 10 copii cu varste intre 7 sau 10 ani, copii provenind din familii sarace ce traiesc intr-un sat in apropiere de Sibiu. Pentru actiunea noastra am donat noi insine bani si am primit donatii si de la altii (bani, haine, jucarii). De asemenea, am donat sange, iar cu bonurile de masa primite pentru donarea de sange am cumparat mancare pentru tabara. Astfel, am ajutat atat cauza noastra cat si persoanele care au nevoie de sange. In acest album am pus cateva poze facute in tabara; majoritatea sunt facute de mine, iar cateva dintre ele le-au facut altii, cu aparatele lor. Vom continua sa organizam si in viitor astfel de tabere pentru copii saraci, insa de acum inainte ca membri ai unui club LEO (club junior al unui club Lions: http://www.lionsclubs.org/). Multumesc.

Helping others (2) : After our first camp for children ( http://maussi-03.smugmug.com/gallery/4116195_Jiq5V#240059160_XA4xL ), we continued our actions. This time, the children were from Sibiu: 10 children, 7-10 years old. The camp took place close to Paltinis resort, between 29th of April and 4th of May 2008. *** Many thanks to all the people who helped us! Also, many thanks to all the volunteers who participated to this camp! Without any of you it would have been more difficult. *** Photographers: Alin, Mihai, Tudor & myself.
